The Utah Domestic Violence Coalition (UDVC) is a non-profit, statewide membership organization committed to eliminating domestic violence. UDVC works to affect federal, state, regional and local policy for the benefit of victims and survivors of domestic violence, children who witness family violence, and teen dating violence.
How We Work
To achieve these goals, UDVC collaborates with other programs including Utah’s 22 local DV Coalitions; state agencies; local, state, and federal policy makers and other key partners to help educate, advocate and ensure that laws and policies are supportive of and enhance the safety of victims, survivors and their families. UDVC also provides technical support to our member programs and provides resources to our other partners. Utah Domestic Violence Coalition researches and analyzes possible legislation, examines best practices and policies being used nationally and provides education and support on adapting these best practices to best serve Utah.
Giving a Voice to Victims and Survivors
UDVC also provides a much needed voice in response to legislation and educating legislators on consequences of proposed legislation on adult and child victims and survivors of domestic violence. UDVC researches and analyzes possible legislation, examines best practices and policies being used nationally and makes recommendations about how to adapt these evidence based practices to best serve Utah.
