Each year in October, advocates from around the globe dedicate the entire month to increasing public awareness of domestic violence as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Mourning victims of domestic violence homicide, celebrating survivors, and connecting community to end violence are the three core goals of this month.
Individuals and agencies are invited to participate in the many awareness events taking place around the state. We also encourage discussions about domestic violence–what it is, how to recognize it, and what to do when you see or experience it.
Our 24-hour LINKLine, 1-800-897-LINK (5465) is available statewide, and LINKLine advocates provide confidential support and resources to survivors, perpetrators, and others interested in learning more.
We must all work together to create a state where domestic and sexual violence are intolerable–this month and every month.
If you’re interested in actively participating in our efforts, please consider volunteering.
If you’re not able to actively participate in our efforts, please consider a tax-deductible financial contribution to support survivors.
