Salt Lake City, Utah – Yesterday’s homicide and attempted suicide in Ogden—involving a man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and then, after hours of negotiations with Ogden City Police Department, attempted to take his own life—are acts of domestic/intimate partner violence

As humans, we all have a responsibility to prevent and stop violence. We encourage the media and the public to share resources and facts in response to this incident, the primary facts being:

  • A 41-year-old woman was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend—this is domestic/intimate partner violence
  • The ex-boyfriend/male suspect attempted to die by suicide—this is directly related to domestic/intimate partner violence
