Salt Lake City, Utah – Ensuring the safety of students and others on campus, as well as preventing deaths—suicides and homicides—are key legislative priorities for Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, member providers, and our community partners.
Proposed legislation specific to campus safety, as well as legislation intended to provide a means to save lives and safely remove firearms from those who may be a threat to themselves and/or others, will be discussed by legislators, service providers, law enforcement, and those most impacted by our policies and practices: survivors and loved ones of those we failed to protect.
The press conference will wrap-up UDVC 2020 Advocacy Day at the Capitol, which begins with a policy briefing at 8:30 a.m.
