The UDVC’s Strategic Initiatives drive long-term change by advancing public policy, raising awareness, and equipping our partners with the tools needed to create safer communities. These initiatives help shape how Utah responds to domestic violence at every level—from supporting individual survivors to advocating for sustainable statewide systemic change.

The UDVC’s Communications and Media Initiative focuses on increasing public awareness regarding all aspects of domestic violence. We work to foster trauma-informed engagement and dialogue while amplifying survivor-centered narratives. Through consistent messaging, long-term media partnerships, and targeted education campaigns, the UDVC continuously maintains its role as a trusted voice on domestic violence issues throughout Utah. The UDVC Public Policy Initiative advances key priorities targeted at improving Utah’s response to domestic violence. Our efforts prioritize securing funding, strengthening family court processes, and expanding access to affordable housing. Our work helps ensure that the voices of those impacted by violence shape policies and systemic solutions. The UDVC develops and maintains Essential Resources & Toolkits designed to support member programs, community partners, and professional allies. These resources and toolkits help create and strengthen collaboration and develop more effective statewide responses to domestic violence.
